Interior Architectural Designer

A prime residential development (9 units, 2845m²) on the Kings Road in Chelsea.

Entrance Hall
The pre-cast concrete stair treads have integral glass lenses combining both solid and transparent qualities, and allowing light to penetrate to the back of the entrance. A suede textured concrete wall finish and concrete effect tiles cont
A view back towards Kings Road, through the stair treads with concrete & glass lenses.
Double glazed entrance doors function as the public art requirement of the planing conditions. The artwork was etched into the void face of the glass and then bronzed to create a strong contrasting pattern that also provides some screening.
Oak timber slats wrap up the return wall above the stairs, visualy linking the double height space.
Detail of backlit artwork on fibre optic timber panels. The pattern from the entrance doors continues discreetly on reveals to provide subtle way-finding signage for visitors.
View up the stairs into the garden courtyard. The glazed curtain walling wraps over into the roof plane to maximise the available light.
The external limestone cladding returns into the 1st floor landing, further reinforcing the connection with the garden courtyard. All the materials are carefully balanced to create a sophisticated but restrained palette.

A beautiful modernist Bulthaup fully fitted kitchen with Gaggenau appliances.
A honed limestone floor creates a calm sophisticated feel and is also practical in a main living space.
The glass, oak and steel feature staircase is beautifully detailed with each material performing its function with elegant simplicity.

The design language of the stair continues up to the 2nd floor where a skylight above filters the light through the flight to give it flaoting feel. 
Each unit is provided with an iPad to control the home automation functions.
